Summer 2012

Yepp, It's summer, and it has been a long time since I have posted on here. This summer Is my last year as a camper at Camp Juliette Low. I am leaving this upcoming Monday to spend two weeks in my favorite place! It's not the last time I will be there though. I will definitely come back next year as a CIT, or a counselor in training. :D I hope that everyone has had a great summer so far, I know I have, even though I haven't done much. I did go to my cousin, Evan's 6th birthday party. It was one of the coolest birthday parties i have ever been to. He had a HUGE camp out in the backyard, there were camp songs and scary stories, as well as smores, games and even a scavenger hunt. Well, I hope everyone has a great rest of the summer, I might post again soon. :D

High School (and game night at church)

Wow, I recently started high school. It has been great so far, I like all of my teachers and I have made some new friends as well as talked to a few older ones. One of my new friends, Bridgett, has all of the same classes as me. As I told her, "By the end of this semester, we will be best friends." We even sit by each other in all of our classes!

Well, last night, we had game night at my church. It was a lot of fun, but a little odd and annoying with all of the sixth graders there. We played lots of games like the sled game, a name game, sit down pool noodle hockey and amoeba. I invited Bridgett, and we picked her up to go to game night. Kellyn and "Big Sarah" were there. (PS. It's "Big Sarah", as opposed to "Little Sara(me))We also played water balloon towel volley ball. It was a lot of fun, and we hope to have that much fun at the upcoming lock in. Well, so far, that is one of the most interesting things that has happened with me in the past week. Bye! :)

White Water Rafting

We are splashing from side to side, but it is only the start of our epic trip down the Ocoee River. It would not be easy and you would have to tolerate the cold water splashing upon your lap. Soon, you drop off of a five foot water fall, as you are enveloped in water, your friend crashes into you from the other side of the raft, sending you out into the river.

This is what happened almost immediately as we set out on our journey down the Ocoee. I was the one to fall, soon enough though, I was pulled back into the raft by our guide, Stan The Man. First, we were splashed thoroughly as my friend slipped, knocking me into the water. Then, I was out of the boat, then under it, then behind it. I reached up as I heard Stan yelling, "Grab the paddle!!!" I grabbed on and was pulled to safety. Luckily that was the only time that this happened, and I was unharmed.

We had a great time, doing many things like "Riding the Bull." Which is where you sit on the front of the raft and hold on to a rope. If you lean too far backwards, you hit the people paddling, too far forwards and you swim back to your seat. No one fell out except for me, but plenty of people fell in.

Well, I have had a great day and I hope you have too.

11 Alive

At camp this summer a news crew walked all around camp, interviewing friends and talking to staff. Why?
Well, that is because at Camp Juliette Low, we write letters.
Here is the link to the story.

Summer

I just got back from camp and I have had a wonderful time this Summer.
First, I went to Student Life Camp at Covenant College. There we did all sorts of things and I got to know a lot of my friends at Church a lot better.

Next, I packed up my stuff and went to Anaheim California for a week. That was where the FCCLA National Leadership Conference was. I competed in STAR events with my school's Parliamentary Procedure Team. We won bronze but at least we got to nationals, and on our first try too!!! While we were there we also had a great time at Disneyland. We rode almost every ride in the park and my friend, Abbey, was determined to break my fear of roller coasters. And for the most part, she succeeded.

After I got back in Georgia, I had one day to unpack, and pack, before I headed to Camp Juliette Low. I had an amazing time there as usual, and I made a lot of new friends as well as catch up with a few old ones. I took a lot of fun classes like Extreme OlS, Archery, Sailing and Horseback.

Extreme OlS Stands for Extreme Outdoor Living Skills. In that class, we hiked out of camp one day for an overnight in little rock town. It was a lot of fun. In archery we shot at a lot of things like things we hate, prize cards, paint balloons and candy balloons, we also threw water balloons at our counselors. In sailing we sailed and played a lot of games like the duck game and man over board. In horseback I got to canter. I rode the oldest horse at camp and he surprised every one by passing them all on the path. In all camp day, I placed in every knot in knot tying and we won fourteen person fire.

I have done so much this summer and I have had a wonderful time too, but it isn't over yet. Tomorrow I am going white water rafting!!! Have a great summer!!!

The Beach

Hey, this is Sara, blogging from my phone and from Tybee. It is just wonderful here and the weather is perfect for flying a kite. We overslept today and are going to do a bit of sight seeing tomorrow. My parents are also going to join us then. It is just beautiful here and the place we are staying is just adorable! I invited one of my friends, Lindsay. I would add some pics but i would have to do that from a computer, and, well, this is my phone. Well, I will talk to you later. :)
